First Day of Class 2007

During a beautiful sunny day we started the school year 2007. I was lucky because I knew most of my students from last year, but in a very friendly way my new students and me were very good friends rapidly. We sang, played, worked with cloth to decorate letters and many more interesting and funny activities.

Happy Mother´s Day Dear Mommy!

I would like to tell you that I am not only a teacher here at San Jorge I am also a mother. My son is in second grade, he is seven years old and I also share like you all the beautiful activities that teachers and students of this school had prepare for us. As a mother, I feel very proud because I can see the progresses in my kid. I can notice that his English is improving every day. The quality of teaching English and spanish in this school is outstanding.

Science class: The Butterfly

As I told you in my first article, my class is really very enthusiastic when working but the most interesting characteristic is the amount of ideas they show during investigating about a topic. Science is the subject they like the most because they learn through investigation and discovering and most of the themes are new for them. I feel proud when some of my kids bring their books to share about the topic, that means that in his/her house they continue thinking in the topic and how they can help with new ideas in the next day.

For example when we were talking about the life cycle of the butterfly they enjoyed going to the laboratory to observe a larva growing and then becoming a pupa. This was impressive for the kids and I am sure they will never forget the experience.

Sharing New Experiences

I am enjoying a nice experience with my 31 Bear Cubs during this year 2007. My girls are very sweet and tender, they love to share and to show lots of enthusiasm and dedication when working in class. Most of them like to spend their time reading in the library, others are a good librarian helper. My boys are always showing happiness, most of them like to make many jokes and give crazy ideas during class making everybody laugh. During recess they have learned to play mixed, experimenting new experiences and learning about respect.

I have being working during the whole year some values that here at San Jorge school we considered important like integrity, honesty, perseverance and fortitude.

Now in our fourth bimester we are a family, I consider all of them my siblings, I now when they feel sick, upset or worried and they now a lot about me.
